Maryland Firefighters Injured During Furniture Store Fire

Two suffered non-life threatening injuries battling Rockville fire.

ROCKVILLE, Md. (WUSA) - Montgomery County Fire officials say that two firefighters sustained heat related, but non life threatening injuries while battling a fire on Wednesday night at the Marlo Furniture store in the 700 block of Rockville Pike.

Firefighters were called to the store around 6:10 p.m. Wednesday, and the store was evacuated. They found fire on the second floor at the back of the building. Officials say the fire was in the ceiling of the second floor and the roof of the building.

Firefighters called for additional units.

The fire was put out with the additional firefighters.

Officials are still trying to determine the cause of the fire.
