Firefighter Death from HIV Recognized as LODD

Washington firefighter exposed while treating infected patient; died six years later

Doug Waller is the first firefighter from South King (Wash.) Fire and Rescue to be honored for dying in the line of duty -- but he's also one of the first in the country to get this recognition for contracting HIV on the job.
