Burned Maryland Firefighters Remain in Stable Condition

RIVERDALE, Md. (NBC Washington) - Two firefighters remain hospitalized in critical but stable condition after they and five of their colleagues were injured battling a blaze in Prince George’s County Friday night.

According to the Prince George's County Fire Department, 21-year-old Bladensburg Volunteer Firefighter Ethan Sorrell is in critical but stable condition with burns to his airway. 22-year-old Kevin O'Toole, also a Bladensburg Volunteer Firefighter, is in critical but stable condition with second and third-degree burns over 40% of his body.

Riverdale Volunteer Firefighter Michael McLary, 19, may be released as early as today after suffering bruised ribs. All three men were being treated at Washington Hospital Center. The other four firefighters had already been released.
