On Tuesday Canton firefighters were dispatched to the end of Culloden Drive for a train crash. On arrival command requested 8 additional medical rescues into the scene from surrounding Norfolk county for a MBTA commuter train that struck a boxcar. Shortly thereafter a working fire assignment and 2 ambulance strike teams were transmitted bringing multiple mutual aid to the scene fallon ambulance also was dispatched with multiple units. Multiple commuters upwards of 100 who on the train were slightly injured and triaged in a large field behind the residences on Culloden Drive, 2 people were transported with serious injuries. Eventually a 4th alarm was transmitted along with 4 medical strike teams to bring in more assistance to the location. Command set up a staging area at the Canton Junction Commuter Rail Station at 490 Chapman Street. A 5th alarm was sounded to bring in apparatus for cover assignments while multiple people were bused out of the scene, multiple agencies were involved including Amtrak Police, Transit Police, Canton Police,Massachusetts State Police, Massachusetts State Fire Rehab and Incident Support, Boston EMS, And fire departments from as far away as Millis were all on scene assisting.
