Change Your Clock, Change Your Battery Program - What is Your Department Doing?

For the past 22 years, the IAFC and Energizer have worked together to remind communities across the country about the importance of fire safety through the Change Your Clock Change Your Battery® program. This fall, the program urges people to change smoke and carbon monoxide detector batteries when changing clocks back to standard time on November 1.

More than 6,000 fire departments use this program to reach out to their communities with this live-saving information. Thanks to them, Change Your Clock Change Your Battery is among the best-known fire-safety programs in the nation.

The Change Your Clock Change Your Battery kit contains many tools you can use in your public-education and media-outreach efforts to encourage your community to prioritize checking their detectors as the time changes.

The IAFC urges you to get involved in this timely public-education campaign. If you have any questions or need additional materials, call the “Keep Safe. Keep Going” hotline at 314-727-5700, ext. 108, or send an email to keepsafekeepgoing@blickandstaff.com.

We follow the NFPA guidlines of once a year with checking your detectors monthly. I figure it's twice a year because the battery company is making out better.

Our department has always used this in public-education campaigns. The Energizer Bunny is very cool !!! this should get the point across. Thank you Energizer.
