It's Day-FIVE since Last Saturday on that fateful day Sept. 26, 2009. Water subsided slightly. My house still flooded and with no electrical power. Unlike other areas at due east and north of our city. Water flood are gone but they are starting cleaning their community. Relief operation still on-going and out Fire Tanker its rear tires were busted and needs for replacement. It was worned out because of rescue / relief operation since DAY - ONE, stepping on debris or rocks. Our chief of our volu… Continue

July a month to remember

July 16, 1990, Pasig Catholic College, Pasig City, Philippines at approximately 4:00 pm. I was in 4th year high school back then, all of the seniors have left home already and as a cadet officer assigned as a COD - (cadet officer of the day) and waiting until 5pm to lower the school flag and looking forward to go home. When I was going down the stairs then I've heard a ringing and felt a dizzy sensation then I realize it was an earthquake. I ran downstairs in a heartbeat because I was almost at… Continue

Last June 14, 2009. Retired US Airforce Captain Jason McDonald a firefighter/paramedic - our technical adviser. Resolving fire ground issues

Fire ground conflict in the Philippines was a all time issue plague the career vs. volunteer units for a long time. Volunteer units which is approximately 70 % more than the gov't counterpart - majority of which in the national capital region which is Metro Manila. Although, we get the job done most of the time. Fighting fire side by side with our career counterparts has the cold and uneasy feelings is still there. But the question of efficiency, liability, dormant resources, injuries, and accou… Continue

Happy Thanksgiving

Basically, thanksgiving is an American holiday! For us there are lot of things to thank about everything. The month of November will be a significant event for us. Our early completion of monthly payment of our first and very own - dubbed The Alliance Tanker (picture at front page). This is one of our achievement so far since our brigade was conceived last November 2006. We have completed a one-year project for full acquisition of this fire apparatus. We have experience ups and down with… Continue

7th Anniversary of 9/11 Remembered from an outsider eyes.

In commemoration of the 7th anniversary of September 11, 2001 terrorist attack. I would like to repost my last year blog for this commemoration at our homepage www.pasig-alliance.co.nr. This how I remember 9/11. 6 Years ago, I was in Maybunga volunteer back then, on duty on our headquarters. We got word something going on New York so we tuned in to ZOE channel (now QTV). There, we were kind of confused of the unfamiliar landmark. Where is the other tower? The other tower was burning inte… Continue

Andrew, Where I am we can drive either POV or ride apparatus to the scene. We are in a very rural community. The biggest problem we run into is people stopping in the middle of the road as if they are so dumbfounded they lost all sense of how to d...
