- Didn't have to pass a test. Failed at everything else. Beer. Women. I thought I would look cool walking around with a pager and a big bluelight - Nothing like that pager going off full blast when you're standing in line somewhere and people look at you like there is something wrong with you. I always wanted to be referred to as an ''ambulance driver''. Driving a 40,000 lb. fire engine like a maniac to an obvious non- emergency because''insurance says we have to have our lights and sirens on for every call'', and to work Bingo- Did you know you lose a hundred dollars for every minute you are not out on the floor selling extra boards or specials?Oh, did I mention beer?

40 years ago today.....
I know....most of us on this site weren't even born. I admit, that I don't remember the landing- I was just over two months old when it happened. I am still fascinated by the event though. When you stop and think about the magnitude of what occurred,it's mind numbing- man stepped foot on another celestial sphere, some 200,000 miles away from Earth,in space.The technology,science and luck involved in such a feat, is amazing.

Maybe I'm getting sentimental in my old age- I'm turning 40 this year. Ah, thanks for all the ''Happy Birthday'' salutes. Really, you don't have to. Birthdays just aren't what they used to be...especially after the 21st.
