2 departments in crawford county have merged and i haven't heard of any problems at this time. One deptartment was bankrupt and i believe they just merged and now have 2 stations.

I agree 100%. Mercer county has 4 private services and 1 volunteer. I suggested a county wide EMS system a while back. The few people i talked to stated it was a good idea but the private services would object. Politics as usual.

ok, thats what i was kinda planning on doing. I think i might have the same MSA as you do. Would you use that for confined space rescue?

we do the same with are old packs we use msa and i still have a green cylinder and elephant trunk mask that i train with instead of beating up the new ones it still works fine and i have not had a problem with it now would i use it for a fire no w...

When we retire a pack from service, we then use it for training such as ff drags. We don't receive a lot of funds from the town so we can not afford to damage the newer ones.

When something is built it is NFPA compliment if it meets the standard for the year it was manufactured. A item doesn't become non compliant unless it has some kind of issue where it can no longer pass inspection.

Either, There are 26 departments in the county. Alot of them could save money by joining. They have overlapping resources and a few of them are only a couple miles apart. Huge waste of money. The whole state? Sure, why not?

early x-mas + packaging = ER visit

Well my wife gave me a x-mas gift early. She gave a me a TOMTOM gps device. Well on the way home i decided to open it and play with it, since i am an overgrown kid. Well being an overgrown kid or just a kid, playing with knives is bad. The packaging was the real thick molded plastic. I had my knife close up on my thumb while opening it.It happened so fast that once it was over blood was everywhere. Since my thumb was cut in half to the bone from the tip i figured melissa should take me to the ER… Continue

Hi everyone. I run with a local fire company that serves 3 townships and the borough of Mercer. We are known as the dept. with the big blue trucks. I work for a local ambulance service that provides coverage for northern Mercer county. I am married to a wonderful wife who recently completed the EMT-B course. She runs with a local ambulance service as well. I do some photography and do some video of different calls I have run. I add more pics all the time to my myspace page. If ya want to add me… Continue

Hey Kali, I'm not trying to put you down. I know how you like to get on here and put others down. That wasn't the point. The point is that not all of us have the stickers and all the pretty little lights. The boy just had a complaint and wanted to...
