BACK TO LATEST NEWSBoy, 2, takes a break from potty training at Liverpool fire station

«
Salina, NY -- Veteran firefighters were left shaking their heads with the emergency call that drove up about noon today to Liverpool Fire Station No. 2 on Seventh North Street.

Liverpool firefighters removed a potty seat from a 2-year-old boy's head. The boy's mother took this photo."In 29 years, I've seen a lot of things, but this was definitely a first," said First Deputy Liverpool Fire Chief Gary Vincitore.
Into the fire station, a mother brought her 2-year-old son with a plastic potty se… Continue

OLD TRUCK VERSES NEW TRUCKS

I am from a small fire dept and well our equipment is old we keep it up .. We have the biggest engine in the county, but it's one of the oldest in the county... I sit during parades and think of all these depts driving thru with all these new trucks and of course they always tell what they have paid for these trucks..As we know alot of money... I sit in the stands and I will watch our truck go thru and people look and they think old truck... What I don't understand and they don't understand the o… Continue

ALBANY — Firefighters across the state are roaring for the repeal of a little-understood section of vehicle and traffic law that allows them to drive their fire trucks to the scene of an emergency — but not drive them back unless they have a commercial driver's license.

The implications of the law went vir… Continue

Wow is it cold here. -18 is crazy. Furnace hasn't had a break in a week. We had a small plane crash land on a river near here last week and the dive rescue dept. was called out to retreive it. The pilot and passenger got out ok, but the plane was on less than 2 inches of ice, no clue why it didn't break through. We use the same mustang suits that the Canadian Coast Guard uses, and they are phenominally warm, beat the old gumby suits hands down. Hope you're not spending too much time standing out in the cold!
