I have been exposed to some testing by NCRC, NASAR, RESET, etc... A figure 8 with a four inch tail will not come undone. That said, if you feel better tying a safety in it, go for it.

If you are going to stay a "certified" department then you have to do the core comps, but the real question is why would you not want to do them. Yes they are aggravating sometimes but don't you agree that training is a very important thing in the...

NIMS and the beuracratic red tape that it has created.

I had to sit through another long two days of NIMS training. This time it was IS 400, but it really doesn't matter what they call it, they are all pretty much the same. The class starts out with the obligatory review of everything that we have already learned, which usually means we are going to go over the previous class completely. After lunch we finally get started on the "new" stuff. This time we were learning about the state and federal level of response. Now don't get me wrong I truly b

I hate sundays!!!!

The city I work for is mostly a business/ technology office complex. Don't quote me on the numbers but we have something like 30,000 people that actually live in the city, but Monday through Friday our city swells to over 300,000 people. With six ALS engine companies, two ALS rescues, and one Truck company the call volume for 30,000 people isn't very high. This might be great for some people, but for me it makes for way to much down time. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy sleeping most nights, but

Looking for this EMS gentleman.docxI am looking for the gentleman in the photo whom I believe lives in the area of Georgia. He has done nothing whatsoever wrong, nor am I chasing him for anything, but someone is operating in the UK on the pretence of being him and attempting to extort money from innocent people and I think he should know all about it. After all, this is not only an indictment on him but also on the trust people have in the EMS services (I refer to the attached photo displaying the EMS badge which has been deliberately used to promote his honesty). I know I would want to know if it was being done to me. So if you recognise him, can you please advise me or ask him to contact me directly at english.anniemoon@yahoo.co.uk or phone on 00 44 1566 770 751. If you or the gentleman in the photo would like to call me, I am happy to call you straight back and I will give him all the details on this matter.
