- i love helping people. i think it's a job that commands respect. i love the comrodery we have with other emergency workers and public servants. i love when we get someone to the hospital alive. even if it's just in time to say goodbye to their family and loved ones. i have no problem seeing someone die. you do what you can. if you weren't there,that person is going to deffinatly die. by you being there, you offer a chance and hope they wouldn't otherwise have. what gets me is the family that is left behind. that's what hurts.knowing that some 81 y/o woman just lost the one person who means the most to her in this world. or some 9 y/o no longer has his mommy because of the drunk driver that hit them on the way home from the park. that to me is the hardest part of my job.
