Top Issues Facing Responders:
Lack of experience based training. There is not enough to prepare our inexperienced members for what is to come. I feel elder members with many of the experiences learned, retire. They are doing so without sharing their knowledge and experience with the younger less experienced members. Check out Chief Rick Lasky's Pride and Ownership book to see how you can change this trend. I also feel the rise to the top dog position oftentimes does not allow for a well balanced leader to assume the position. Time is needed to learn and experience many of the vey issues you are expected to lead you ranks through. Leadership training is tough to get.

A lesson in how not to do live fire training......

I can't understand some people's thinking.
After viewing this video, I wonder what kind of message this is sending to our new recruits.

Sorry Chief, left my gear at home, but still would like to do a phase of the live burn today..........

I used to wonder, why after years of doing live burns around our area, what I deem to be the 'right way' or safe way, why would the powers to be start to become disenchanted when we mention aquired structure burns.

I guess, more and more,… Continue

Bear with me now. If you are looking for a qucik story, this one is not it. This is like a National Geographic synapsis on the Fire Service. Many of you who have been around a while can relate to this....some of you who have not witnessed this, give it time. You will see this. It is up to us to make the great change to keeping us motivated to move forward and purposeful movement. The Author on thi
