I am a fan of Innis & Gunn, it is very much an acquired taste, being aged in oak barrels. Most of it is aged in used bourbon barrels but I see they now have some aged in used rum barrels, which should have an interesting flavor.

Can't get it here either, but there are a few from my area who bring it back from trips. I have one in my ocker right now, being saved to share with a friend (sadly at his graveside), around the holidays.

Why I Joined the Fire/EMS:
I enjoy the dynamic challenge that every shift presents. It isn't the same dull, sit-at-a-desk kind of job that slowly kills people. It makes me think and challenge myself to become better every day.

Top Issues Facing Responders:
Politics and financial issues can be extremely difficult for agencies. Getting the average politician and tax payer to understand why we need up to date equipment and recommended minimum staffing are difficult, up hill battles.
I Love Being in Fire/EMS Because:
The diversity and the fact that my cohorts will do anything to help a brother or sister out.

The Boycott is over the unfair and illegal treatment of firefighters within Clearwater. This includes, sexual discrimination, illegal firings, and absolutely ignoring all aspects of the contract agreed to and signed by Clearwater O… Continue

A video worth watching

As we come up on the anniversary of the tragic loss of nine brothers in Charleston, my battalion officer played a video for me. I'm not going to lie, I was crying like a baby right in the station. Its sad, but, powerful and motivating.

Its a real reminder that everything we do can affect those around us, even if we are gone. You'll have to cut and paste the link, but I promise it is worth the effort.

Employment Information...

Dress Code:

You are advised to come to work dressed according to your salary.

If we see you wearing Prada shoes and carrying a Gucci bag, we will
assume you are doing well financially and therefore do not need a
raise.

If you dress poorly, you need to learn to manage your money better, so
that you may buy nicer clothes, and therefore you do not need a raise.

If you dress just right, you are right where you need to be and
therefore you do not need a raise.
