Had a woman call the sheriff's line today for a baby squirrel that fell out of the tree. Had she actually called the 9-1-1 line PSP was going to slap her with misuse of 911 services.

For me it was a still alarm for keys stuck in a sewer. The guy didnt think to stick his hand in the opening of the sewer grate. We were on scene for literally 30 seconds before leaving.

The oddest call I have ever been at was dispatched as a physical rescue call. We got on scene to find out that she somehow got stuck under a dresser...odd We also once had to help get a child's head unstuck from a recliner.

I wish you could see the sadness of a businessman as his livelihood goes up in flames, or that of a family returning home only to find their house and belongings destroyed.

Good stuff, Seth! It is too bad that people truely don't understand or appreciate us until they need us...and then sometimes get spat upon later by those we've helped. It's a lot like being in the military! But we do it anyway...
BTW, where is your township? Are you near Pittsburgh? My wife is from there and her pamily is still there.
