That is a very interesting background too!! Beginning around January we hope to sign my son up for drum lessons. My hope is that he will someday play in a Scottish Pipe Band! He didn't want to try the pipes figured I wouldn't push it...ha! I've attended the Highland Games for over 24 years so my kids grew-up around it. My younger daughter decided to play volleyball now which makes it much easier on the checkbook...the Irish Dance is VERY expensive! So I don't miss that part! Sounds like you have a hectic schedule also! :)

My ex has Irish/Scottish descent and my daughter asked to learn irish at the very young age of 6. We were big on our cultures and I had both my girls in Hula (my heritage) at the time but my younger daughter DID NOT like it. Being feisty and hyper she won the battle and I'm glad she did. She made it to championship level before she decided she had enough of it. I was disappointed she quit but we did learn alot about the culture and she appreciates her heritage to this day. You can still catch her doing a treble or jig just walking down an aisle at a store...guess it will never be out of her system!

I have that song downloaded on my iPod and everytime I hear it my heart shutters, it's so beautiful yet so sad. Hence an Irish lament...gotta love the Irish.

After 15 years in the service, there is one thing I know will NEVER change. That is "CHANGE". It happens. We get new equipment, new duties, new skills, etc.... Some of it good, some of it bad. But if we had not tried new things throughout the hist...
