3rd generation. Mr Gradfather was a fireman and Chief in a small volunteer Dept in Lily Dale, New York. A summer community near Buffalo. My Dad was a Police Officer with Hyattsville City (MD) Police Dept and a Life Member of Branchville VFCo

Past Vol Chief (70-73), currently Superintendent of Machinery. Member of Red Knights M/C MD 1 Chapter( Senior Road Captain). Founder of the Red Helmets M/C Ride (Honors all Firefighters killed in the line of duty). Ride goes to the Natl Fallen Firefighter Memorial in Emmitsburg every Oct. (www.redhelmetsmcride.org).

safety and coming home alive. Too many (approximately 100+) firefighters each year are LODD. Recruiting and retaining volunteers is also a major concern for all volunteer departments.
