- Why I Joined the Fire/EMS:
- The local volunteer fire department needed more people willing, able, and with the time to learn to help save lives and properties. I always wanted to be a firefighter when I was growing up anyway but was constantly told that girls couldn't join. I didn't believe it then and I don't believe it now.

- About Me:
- I'm 27 years old. Not only am I training to be a volunteer firefighter (a childhood dream...even with the hard work), but my boyfriend has been a firefighter since '93.
I'm an Air Force brat. My grandfather served as a pilot in the Air Force for 20 years, and my father served 28 years in the Air Force in Space Operations and Air Traffic Control.
I'm 1st Vice President of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 12-Rockmart as well as Chaplain for the American Legion Riders (Post 12 Rockmart).
