My ex husband talked me into taking the class with him. He left long ago, and I stayed. Spent 10 years as a volunteer paramedic, before I was hired full time 18 years ago. EMS isn't a "career" for most of us, it is a "calling". And I am proud to have served in my calling for as long as I have without burning out. Just call me a dragon.

I had been dealing with this for several months, and had been to my cardiologist about a month previous for a stress test, which came back normal. You are very welcome.
I admire your years of service.
That kind of dedication is getting harder and harder to find.
Be proud of what you do.

yeah, I tried to get him to join the volunteers here, but he didn't want to have to take on the fire training and our departments are all FF/EMT - which is kind of a shame and we've lost some mighty fine EMTs that way, both professional and volunteer!

Thanks for the invite! And yes, we're practically neighbors :) Actually, I work with a gal from Denver City. Her husband also works for the city and, if I'm not mistaken, was a volunteer EMT when they lived in Texas! It's a small world, isn't it?
