Why I Joined the Fire/EMS:: I'm not, but I'm very curious and interested in the field, which is how I found this site. But let me say that I also have a lot of respect and gratitude for everything that you men and women do. Let me put is this way: my son (he's 8, so I'm sure this will change 100 times before he's 18) wants to be a firefighter or a cop. I'm hoping he goes with firefighter. : )

They are part of the reason I answer my landline "Thank you for calling your northside Domino's Pizza, will this be pick-up of delivery?" That way they drop their pitch and hang up, and anyone that knows my sarcastic nature knows me well enough to be worth talking to. Good luck out there, and be safe.

Perhaps he will instead settle into a job in advertising or telemarketing but one can always hope that the fellow chooses to participate in the emergency services anyway. :-)
