Been dry then rains some, then dry again. That's Iowa. Once in awhile wemutaul aide with Ames. Usual only when they need another ladder truck. For a Frat house fire, lumber yard, something big. Those "Career" boys don't also play well with us Volunteers. They have to be desparate to ask for help fromthe "vollies". Depending on when you took that class, I may have been one of those instructors. Be Safe and stay in touch.

I have heard that you all have been flooded most of the year... Going from Ice to Rain.. It is starting to feel more and more like summer now... For the 4th of July, I was in my black BDUs and usually am really sweaty, this year was still cold, forgot the jacket... But it is getting back to normal summer weather... We are all fine, down under in the woods... Have been peaceful also on the fire and ems side..

Unlike you, we are seperate inities down here... Two different boards, made up of different people.. We are known as Quad County Fire Protection District and Iron County EMS... We work very good together, but we are seperated.. Your company is probably the same... I know when I worked for St. Charles Fire District, we had an ambulance and we responded to EMS, but we didn't transport... But the firefighters, were also First Responders.. Down here it is an entirely different... But we still work together and have fun on down time together...

Here is the Fire Dept. my space : Quad County Fire.. It is also a web page that I keep updated, the best I can

Well, I hope that you have a very good day and rest of the week... Hope to hear from you and any other firemen up there.. Would love to hear from any of them...

Hi from Wellman, Iowa. Our department has 2 pumpers, 2 tankers, 1 rescue, and three grass trucks. We service a town of around 1200 plus a significant amount of farm land in our district which covers portions of four counties.

I am the head of our Water Dept and it can happen on even well maintained systems. We have had mains burst from supply line valves shut down to fast (water hammer) Quarter turn valves are the easiest to do this with as we have had a water operator...

I think the thinking process was: big city dept., full assignment of 3+1. 2nd due is pretty close behind you. It worked, but like I said, I wouldn't do it.
