My paid work brings me into contact with heaps of people all the time. In addition some of my fellow rural volunteers have done assignments in Victoria over the last few years as part of the Kiwi contingents.

Robbo,

Please contact me about the fire behavior video you posted. Very interesting and I want to know if that is you or another instructor you filmed and more specifics to the prop.

Thanks Bill - FETC

Hey Robbo, Send me the lat and long of where you work and live. And how cool that the concept of wildland urban interface is new for you. You are going to love the stuff that I can send you to get you caught up on so many things. Are you familiar with the standard fire orders or the 18 watch outs? Urban interface fires are hitting more of us as the populations extend out of the city, out of the suburbs and into the mountains. As a result, we get some pretty nasty fires that seem to be gaining in numbers and intensity. Here's some examples to help paint the picture.

The last photo shows are number one goal for residents and that is to provide at least 100-feet of defensible space. I hope you find this helpful. Stay low and safe! Mike
