I would request that the Chief deploy the RIT and then complete a PAR for all of the other companies operating on scene.

Three blasts of air horns is not enough to signal an evacuation. 30 to 60 seconds worth of each rig blaring their horns is enough to wake the dead.

Never heard of this before. I think someone in the department doesn't like the looks of the radio strap. The radio will work fine against any metal object. Never had a problem. I like to wear my radio strap on the outside of my gear so I can acces...

I think a mascot would help boost the moral. The moral in most FD's are low today due to lack of brotherhood. I have seen the brotherhood drop alomost out of the areas I live in. My Vol. department has a Dalmation for a mascot. Stay Safe, Robbie Cox

I would deploy the rit team

Since they had better be in there with a charged line and you should have a second line staffed and ready to support them you would simply send in the second crew down that same 1st line to locate them. you would then have a third staffed crew and...

I agree with a lot of you, don't use your PASS unless you are in danger yourself, or with the people that are in danger. Accountability is also key, but that only tells you what the crew was doing at the last PAR check (Up to 10 minutes between c...

No, we do not have contact with the outside all the time, if radio failure occurs then we have just lost contact with the team inside. This was my point about what would you do if this would ever happen. I have heard alot of great ideas. Thanks fo...

I agree with what you are saying, but the radios do have flaws and do not work all the time. I wish our communication system was much better, but just remember electronics are made by man and man is not perfect. Thanks for your reply & thoughts. ...
