John is a 28 yr. old loving father, husband, son, brother and friend. John was injured back in 1998 while on duty as a paramedic. He responded to a call of a person who was overdosed on street drugs, and while responding...this person through my husband out of a 2nd floor story window. My husband suffered many surguries to the right leg which caused the knee to be fused, vascular skin graphs among other issues involving the leg. Because of the injury to his leg, he has obtained MRSA and VRE, can barely stand on his leg, every step is painful.

On July 29, 2008, John will be having an AKA (above knee amputation) of his right leg. We are setting up a fund for John. He will be in the hospital for 5-7 days followed by visits at home by the VNA (visiting nurses association) and then followed by months of rehab.

A fund in his name will be made with Citizen's Bank here in Manchester, New Hampshire. Your donations (if you wish to help) will help pay for gas to and from the hospital (the hospital is 18 miles away from Manchster), hospital and rehab bills. If you wish to help, there are two ways to send a donation to this fund.

This question would probably do better being posted on the JEMS sister site but I havn't gotten around to creating an account there so I'm posting it here. Yesterday I had one of our newer firefighters ask me if it was ok to use adult AED pads on...

Some good points... some not so much. Let's not get into details. lol I understand that this was just a rant and I respect that because I have written a few myself. One important thing I have learned though is not to make generalizations about the...

Ummm... yeah. I'm a little confused about what you want us to say here. If you want my opinion about freelancing on a fire-scene, then ask me "whats your opinion about freelancing on a fire-scene?" And I can tell you in one short sentence-- Its st...
