About Me:

I was born and raised in Beaufort, South Carolina, son of Ralph and Hazel Stanley. I played all sports while growing up. I attended Beaufort High School where I graduated in 1980. I attended the South Carolina Fire Academy where I received my Firefighter I certification. I worked for the City of Beaufort Fire Dept for 5 years and have been employed with Parris Island Fire Rescue for the past 25 years. I met my wife, Lorri in 1991 and married her October 1992. We were blessed with our first daughter, Ciara Mariein 1995 and then again with our second daughter, Shaina Rose in 1998. We have 4 exchange daughters...Michaela Heinz (Germany)...Marie Besson (France)...Penny Larsen (Greenland)...Arnalaa Johansen (Greenland).

Side Jobs or Other Organizations:

I am co-owner of Coastal Kayaking, a kayak company on Hilton Head where I am a guide. We do 2-hour guided tours on Broad Creek. We have single and double kayaks that we take customers through the surrounding marsh and give them up close experiences with Great Blue Herons, Great White Egrets, Snowy Egrets, Atalantic Bottle-nosed Dolphin. We give information on the tides, information on oysters, Bald Eagles, mink and Brown Pelicans. We launch at Marshland boat landing and paddle out past Palmetto Dunes and end up at Shelter Cove.
