Wow! This response shows me that ground ladders can be exciting to someone other than myself. Thanks for reading and replying.

When you ask who did my assessment center? Do you mean the assessment I made Chief on or who does them in general? As in who sat in on it or who administers it?

I've seen the folding roof ladder at the Duo web site, but I don't know of anyone who has ever used it. I like and have used the aerial to reach the ridge. Sometimes the house is set too far off from the street to make it so that is why I've been looking for the "better mouse trap." We've used the extension ladder and it worked but was a little combursome with the fly section. We got it/get it done but always looking for a better way escpecially since this is so common now.

Oh, some other things about these roofs. Typically an asphalt shingle, sometimes woode shake. On a 10 in 12 is the common pitch. OSB decking with 2x6 or 2 x8 rafters. Sometimes there is a bonus room under these huge roofs but many times it is just open unfinished wood. The distance up from the Ridge line to the ceiling height could be as much as 20 ft.

Hey Chief

I read your blog on the double ended roof ladder. Great Job! I've got an issue that you may be able to help me with. Many of the houses built in my area have huge roofs. It is not uncommon to see a 30 ft. length needed from the edge of the roof to the ridge line. We've developed some methods to overcome it but I've read about folding roof ladders. When folded the ladder is 15 ft., unfolded it is 30 ft. in length. Have you seen or used such a ladder? If so, how well does it work. If you have seen an alternative solution, I'd love to hear about it.
