What are your thoughts on the upcoming NFPA emission changes? Urea is going to be added to all apparatus to help burn cleaner. Are any of you converting yet and how expensive is this really going to be for us? Buying a new truck seems to get harde...

I understand it's EPA but regardless, if you buy a mfg 2010 vehicle it must have the emissions changes. The manufacturers must comply to NFPA standards.
EPA emissions changes.....not NFPA (the NFPA has no say in the commercial truck industry, and they can only make recommendations to the fire service)
Our nickname is "The Township" We don't have a mascot but we do have a gater wearing a firehelmet on our radio room door.
The only school in our district is an EL school. It used to be the Davis High School and there football team was the Yellowjackets. So our trucks well some say its a shade of green some say yellow...I think the name is Duke Lafrance Green.
Our school mascot is the Red Devil. We have a devil face on our patch & on our t-shirt to show our pride. We attend almost all sporting events at the school, really good P.R.
Well, the department I do work for has no mascot. Whenever the little kids come to the station, though, they expect to see dalmatians running all over the place. It is fun seeing them.

It is an EPA (Obama) government requirement. There is nothing to convert to as it only pertains to vehicles purchased in 2010. According to some industry people, the new systems will be able to produce the same fuel mileage as the pre 2009 require...
