Little Garry is Right... TNT is JUNK! Holmatro... ok.... HURST Number One for a reason.... dont just ask salesmen about them as technical people... call code4usa for answers... or visit code4usa.com compare apples to apples not apples to squash

We've used our Genesis tools on several recent extrications - including two complicated ones - with great results.

In Denton we carry nothing but TNT. I have used Hurst and Amkus also during my career but have had the best results out of the TNT. We have 6 Engines, 1 quint, and a rescue truck that all carry a set of TNT tools on them.

Yes,again nothing about Genisis impresses me.I've cut a LOT of "iron"with both the Holmatro and ResQtek EWO tools.NEVER had a blade problem. We're upgrading all our tools this year.I hope to have the rescue engine completely upgraded by Thanksgiving.

well, in the netherlands the HOlmatro set is the most used product. The volunteer station where i am chief we have on both trucks holmatro, i could find a bether than these sets the station where i work as proffesional we have also holmatro

We looked at them but the new Genesis beat them hands-down in the competition. The only brand that came close was the new Hurst. I've also seen two ResQTek cutters break doing routine (non-fortified steel, just regular old sheet metal post) cuts....

Ben,have you tried the resQTek EWO tools. I favor them over even Holmatro. Not a big fan of Genesis.Tried 'em but not real impressed. T.C.

Luke, NFPA ratings are important here, because they're the only national point of reference we have for a lot of fire-rescue tools, procedures, and design/performance standards. I realize it's not important to you, so just ignore it.

Fireground Radio Operations. Who hears us? Is anyone at risk?

Hello everyone! Life has been busy, but, Im back to FFN!
Anyway, just looking for feedback on this one.
Fireground radio communications has been, in my opinion, a topic that for whatever reason, seems to go quiet or even go away when things go right or even wrong on the fireground. Radio operations seem to be classified by many as low regarding the topic of the next fire critique.
Why?
In my area, we are lucky enough to request a fireground talk around channel for any incident that would general… Continue

Winter of 08' ,,, its gonna get busy!

Okay, its Memorial Day weekend and this guys talking about winter! WTF! Its short and tee shirt weather buddy!!!
Yea, I know Im happy about summer as much as the next person. I will say though, I have a grave concern about what the fire service will face once the leaves fall and we hunker down for the winter months. Perhaps NOW is the time to consider what I see as inevitable.
I dont need to tell anybody about what it costs to buy petroleum products. Forget gas,,,Im talking about home heating oi… Continue

Hello from NC. I am an instructor here and also teach some up north. Check out my discussions on the rope rescue group and there is a good blog on "Moose" Jones page about training. Stay safe. Jim

Hi Chief Lewis I hope all is well with you. We worked our tails off during the inspection I think it looks good for the little bit of manpower we did have down there. We finished up tonight some stuff we found that we had forgotten but for the most part everything looks really good. I hope the Chief staff can see how much hard work was put into everything. See you at the BIG ONE!!!
