Why I Joined the Fire/EMS:
I am getting into volunteering with Buckeye Fire Department, Engine Company #702. I test for National Registry in August, wish me luck! :-) Anyhow, the reason I would like to join is because this has been my passion since I was 15, I was always fascinated with EMS/Firefighting. When I was 16, I rolled my 5-seater vehicle 3 times, and luckily, came out unscathed. While I was on the backboard, I had an epiphany. Hahaha. I just can't see myself doing anything else. I return to school in Fall of 2009 to pursue an associate's in Para-medicine (or nursing, haven't decided yet). My ultimate goal is to be a flight medic. I haven't the slightest idea what I am doing, so if you would be so kind as to give me suggestions so that I may, at the least, get on with even a private ambulance, I would very much appreciate it. :-) Thanks!

About Me:
M.E.L.I.S.S.A. Twenty. I'm a mommy. ;-). "Philosopher"

I love adventures...the dunes, the highway, the beach, camping, going shooting, and just hanging out with friends, or my kids, among other things.

My friends are my family, I hold them close to my heart.

I am a student at Glendale Community College, in pursuit of my EMT-Basic Certification. I graduate in May of 2009.

I believe that life is too short to have one passion, thus, I have many. I also plan to get my real estate license, cosmetology license, a business management degree, a skydiving license, a pilot license, motorcycle license, the list is never-ending.

I am growing tired of short-lived, meaningless romances.

I am deathly afraid of cockroaches...it's quite ridiculous.

I live for my kids. <3

I love poetry, especially Jaime DeWolf. The man is a genius.

I am a kid at heart.

I like earning things by my own merit, I don't like hand-outs.

My dad is the coolest dad you will ever meet.

I have way too much pride.

I may or may not have mild to moderate OCD. :-D

Usually, pathos overpowers logos and ethos. Not sure if that's a good thing or not. :-/

I over-analyze E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G.

It bothers me when people misuse the word literally. Ex: I haven't talked to her in forever! Literally.

I try to bite my tongue when people are grammatically incorrect.

I am often misunderstood.

I try to be nice to everyone...even my enemies.

I would much rather be intellectual than physically attractive.

I am allergic to alcohol. No joke.

I play semantics.

I believe in people. I think everyone has potential. The difference is, some choose to take advantage of it, while others meander.

I am mediocre. :-)

I'm kinda shy at first. But sarcasm is my forte. :-D

I hate when people mistake my kindness for weakness.

This is not how I imagined my life at twenty. But I love it anyhow.

I have a crush on someone.

I love country. Probably more than anyone would ever guess. It makes my heart flutter. :-)

As you can see, I over-use emoticons. Get used to it.

I forgive, but I do not forget.

I am not easily provoked to retaliate, cept when I'm driving. Word to the wise: Don't cut me off. :-D

I don't take anything seriously when I don't have to.

I want a truck and quads.

I still feel like I'm fifteen... I mean, it's really hard to believe I'm twenty. Is that bad?

I've never had a broken bone.

I am fragile, but tough. Does that make sense? Good.

I am driven.

I hate my car.

I love my car.

Any questions?
Day Job:
Executive Assistant
Side Jobs or Other Organizations:
All Valley Home Health Care and Nursing
I Love Being in Fire/EMS Because:
Foremost: saving lives. Secondary: I love the adrenaline rush!!
