I am interested in learning from fire departments that successfully implemented recruitment strategies to attract and retain under-represented groups such as women and people form non-English speaking backgrounds.

Robert said… - Biggest hints is to get all required paperwork in ahead of time. There has been plenty of times we wanted to hire somebody but couldn't because they lacked certain paperwork. Things not required but look good. Reference letters from figure heads (current Chief, local government offiicals, etc..)
