I wouldn't really say this was entirely my fault, but I definitely had an assist. One night on a mutual aid call I was helping my chief set a fan up in the window, we got it set in the window and I cut the switch...
Really the only one of our trucks which has a nickname is our brush truck, it's a 1984/86? Dodge which has several...quirks. We call it Clank, mostly because of the wide variety of odd noises it makes.
My first call was a propane truck that rolled over. Thankfully no one was hurt and the only victims were a "sharp curve" sign and a few scraggly longleaf pines..
I'm no vet, I'm still pretty wet behind the ears but this is what my dad always told me when it comes to live burns (or learn burns as he calls them) "Always treat them like the real thing, don't get careless, fire don't know your training".
Great story, glad to hear he's making a good recovery. I think Lucky really fits his situation..

I'm 19 and I live on my family's farm in the middle of nowhere Alabama. There's not all that much to say about me really..I'm a very laid back & easy going, friendly kind of guy who is extremely blessed in a lot of ways. I'm a student at Central Alabama Community College as well the Alabama Fire College.
However, when I'm not in school studying my ass off I enjoy most of the things that your average teenager enjoys. I like hanging out with my friends, listening to music, hitting up concerts and going to the movies. I also play the guitar and fiddle badly.
