Hey!

My name is Amanda and I am trying to figure out what products are best for female firefighters. I have worked as a firefighter for only three years so I am just getting started. Currently I am a student at Eastern Kentucky University in in the Fire & Safety Engineering Technology Program. Although I have only been a firefighter for three years I have had my fair share of small gloves that were still too big and pants that went up to my belly button! I was wondering if you could take the time out of your busy schedule to share some of your favorite/best fitting/most functional products for female firefighters. Weather it’s an awesome fitting pair of pants, A polo shirt that has sleeves that do not go down to your elbows, a pair of great gloves, or boots that have an awesome fit. It would be greatly appreciated if you could share your opinions with me. Thank you very much. Please feel free to e-mail me back at amanda_cherry4@eku.edu or leave me a comment.

Stay Safe,
Amanda Cherry

I have always had a passion for this myself either supporting my husband or as a firefighter. My husband has been a FF for going on 13 years now. He has held every position from Training officer to Lieutenant to Capt to Asst Chief. We just learned what the victim side of this is like. He was in an explosion while welding at his regular job. 2nd and 3rd degree over 10% of his body. All of his scarring is on his back and left arm, but we were sent home with me doing the burn debreeding (sp) and were told to be careful because a lot of marriages don't survive this. It was a long painful process but because we both understood, we got through it and love each other more because of it.

Hey Kelly! I grew up in Virginia with family in Roanoke, Danville, Stanton, and several Virginia mountain towns. I miss the fall colors. I think it is amazing that you are using your platform to educate America about fire safety! Keep up the good work, Stay Safe!

80% of us are volunteers, over 50,000 in Australia. Major cities like melbourne and some large country towns like Ballarat have paid members. All our admin guys are paid too.
