Why I Joined the Fire/EMS:
I became involved in the fire/EMS community in 1992 when I became a psychology issues writer for the former Emergency magazine in Redondo Beach, California. A lot of my articles focused on improving their personal lives as well.

Top Issues Facing Responders:
* Budget cuts in departments--requiring more coverage with fewer dollars--and intensifying personal stress for all
* Physical health issues--chronic and acut fatigue due to running too many calls
* Strained politics of the workplace--working with leadership and co-workers who have trouble buying into a common vision
I Love Being in Fire/EMS Because:
Responders Will Save a Life in Every Family in America

Hey there! Just dropped by to say hello. Not too much going on here. We have our annual open house and company inspection today. This past week we had a 2 story frying pan fire. Kept is confined to the kitchen and the stove. But it was a hot hot and humid night nonetheless. Stay Safe.

I think it would be a good thing to have. I struggle all the time with that. or lack there of. In the meantime I have decided that after 4 years as a FF that I am going to add EMT to that as well. My class begins on the 17th.

Of course I always drive safely and utilize Due Regard. That's why I didn't just hop in front of the cars hoping that they would stop for me. It just irks me that people are either A.) THAT oblivious when operating a motor vehicle, or B.) That unc...
