About Me:
I 've been in law enforcement for 29 years, EMS for 27, firefighting for 7 years.
I've lived in Iowa all my life, have traveled in the USA, alot. Visited many of your fine states. Want to visit them all plus some countries as well.
All three of these jobs have kept me pretty tied down. I just dropped my EMS for a while to free up my schedule, but will go back into it when I leave law enforcement in the next year.
I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and interests.
I'm a pretty laid back, yet off the wall person. Enjoy laughing and clowning around when not busy. I've enjoyed getting into the fire fighting world, wished I did it years ago! But I enjoy the best of three worlds right now.
You can find me on Facebook and Myspace: www.myspace.com/ SwanfireDawg
Day Job:
Police Sergeant
Personal Site/Profile:

Top Issues Facing Responders:
Lack of enough funding for smaller agencies, lack of volunteers in our area.
I Love Being in Fire/EMS Because:
Helping people in bad situations

Hi Joel, I hope all is well in Iowa! Things are starting to pick up here in eastern Washington. The grass is drying out and we are starting to see some fire activity from escaped control burns. I applied for the Division Chief postion with my fire district. I got the position and started on May 11th. Its a full-time chief officer position. I guess after 24 years, I might as well get paid for doing this! Take care and I'll chat with youy later.

Hey Joel, I havent been on in a while, I have been pretty busy at work. The calls have been hit and miss for a while, and then all of the sudden we had a semi truck rollover with entrapment. I confined space rescue from a grain bin (thats a whole story in itself), and a duplex fire Monday night. And I think sprink is finally here.

Hey Joel, how are things in the Corn Belt? We have been slow until this past weekend. It was the last three days of my week as the Duty Chief; I got upgraded to a Battalion Chief Jan 5. I pretty much ran on alarms weekend. A S.W.A.T standby, trauma, 2 MVA's, a 2 alarm apartment complex fire in the city a dryer fire and a fatality vehicle roll-over. It was quite the weekend! Take care Mike
