There definatley needs to be a governing rule for this. Certification is one, Department SOP's and SOG's in another. Then there is the question of capabilities. A small containable grass fire is one thing, but a large uncontained fire is even risk...

My Training:: Trained in the United States Navy for shipboard firefighting, HAZMAT, and Ordenance Disposal. Currently going through fire 1 and 2, once that is complete it will be on to EMT classes.

About Me:: Married to my best friend with 3 awsome daughters. I retired from the United States Navy a couple of years ago and had really been missing the feeling of purpose until I discoverd my local fire department. I am totally excited about being a firefighter. I couldn't imagine doing anything else.

Day Job:: Schwans Home Services Asst. Operational Manager.

I Love Being in Fire/EMS Because:: it is something I truely love doing.
