We have about 250 online personnel working out of 15 stations. We have the regional HazMat Team, USAR team, a Technical Rescue Team, and an award winning Extrication Team.
My '2nd' home is Station 6- C shift~~~It's 1 of the 5 ALS stations, and I TRY to keep my boys tight, but we're a pretty obnoxiously fun crew, that will always get the job done.
About Me:
I love working in the capital city, but live a half hour away in Monticello with my husband, 2 horses and 6 cats. I love my job. Spent 7 years riding backwards, firefighting. Was promoted to Engineer 2+ years ago, I'm on the Lt's list and work out-of-class frequently as one, I'm just patiently waiting for my chance to promotion to the best job (in my opinion) in the department as Lieutenant. No hurry tho', it's a long career and I'll enjoy every shift of it along the way.

Hey!

My name is Amanda and I am trying to figure out what products are best for female firefighters. I have worked as a firefighter for just three years so I am just getting started. Currently I am a student at Eastern Kentucky University in in the Fire & Safety Engineering Technology Program. Although I have only been a firefighter for three years I have had my fair share of small gloves that were still too big and pants that went up to my belly button! I was wondering if you could take the time out of your busy schedule to share some of your favorite/best fitting/most functional products for female firefighters. Weather it’s an awesome fitting pair of pants, A polo shirt that has sleeves that do not go down to your elbows, a pair of great gloves, or boots that have an awesome fit. It would be greatly appreciated if you could share your opinions with me. Thank you very much. Please feel free to e-mail me back at amanda_cherry4@eku.edu or leave me a comment.

Stay Safe,
Amanda Cherry
