Blair, I say the same thing. But ask those that have and have been sued.....It`s a sad sad world when you take time to help someone and end up losing your ass to a lawsuit. Insterad of "health care reform" why not some Tort reform?

How about an opinion on the converse side? My small, rural department just promoted our former AC after our long-serving Chief retired. The new Chief is a great guy, but his first act was to implement a "two-in" rule, which prohibits any responder...

2008 Fire/EMS Safety, Health & Survival Week
The week of June 22-28 is Fire/EMS Safety, Health & Survival Week. The following topics have been identified for special consideration:
1. Fully implement NFPA 1500 , especially sections addressing PPE:
- Provide compliant PPE.
- Train and enforce use of PPE, including respiratory protection.
2. Fully implement the Wellness-Fitness Initiative:
- Provide annual medical and physical evaluations.
- Provide equipment and time for exercise.
- Provide nutrition information

Mick Mayers said… - Unfortunately, when I got my new appointment as Chair, I had already made commitments this week. As it is, I wouldn't have been able to be there anyway- as of today, my youngest daughter has got pneumonia (so much for commitments) so I would have had to cancel anyway. It's funny how things work out that way sometimes.

- Just scanning my "friends" list and noticed you were on it (I guess I need to look at that stuff from time to time). I'm the new Chair of 1006 and (as a result) on the Pro Quals TCC.
