- I have been around the block a few times, was a Hot Shot for OC [Federal], and a Contract firefighter for NorthTree, then with CDF for a short time, was also a Paid Volunteer. Not counting the years I was with the National Ski Patrol and SB Search and Rescue for EMS doing outer area Rescue..

- I'm younger in body & mind then most 50+ year olds & in better shape, I'm 6 Ft. at 170 Lbs., NO Belly, and yes I can see my shoes when I look down...lol.
I worked out a lot when I was a Firefighter. Had to stay in good shape, My Life may have depended on it......
My Life Style has provided me with unparalleled opportunity to develop my mind and body, while teaching me I was not the center of the universe. I have strong Christian values, All is possible with God in your life..
I am not as concerned with whether my glass is half empty or half full as I am with what it is filled with.....

They're both great movies.
Backdraft is older, so the special effects are better in Ladder 49. They both contain some sort of romanticism, and they both have sad points as well.
I suggest renting both, although I personally like Ladder 49 better...
