- I joine up in this service to be a good role model for my kids and to help make differences in peoples lives. Not to mention that every shift is ALWAYS something different and thats just one of the things I love about the job. Money and fame is nothing compared to my reward to know that someone was helped and possibly saved and get to go home.

Backdraft is an awesome movie even though it is a little far fetched in most parts. Ladder 49 is also a great movie that is more realistic. Both are #1 in my opinion, I'd rent, or better yet buy, both and get it over with.
Andrew, don't feel too badly, I have driven trucks and my own POV - as an authorized emergency vehicle - with lights and sirens, and have been ignored by motorists.
It seems that as long as it isn't THEIR emergency, they can't be bothered or inco...
