Call it a pet peeve but why is doing the right thing at the right time so hard for so many, especially the "Old Guys". That being said I have been in the fire service since I was 18. So yes folks at the ripe "old" age of 37 I have 19 years on the job. I have continued to adapt when needed. Refemember no Nomex hoods? I wear it all the time. SCBA was for interior attacks only. Bullshit, SCBA should be worn on every fire, i.e. structure, vehicle, dumpster anything except maybe a brush fire, even

donnie, Well that sounds easy with just an appointment instead of an assessment center. I know all about holding my breath, I usually turn blue and pass out before anything happens. I quit doing that-Blue doesn't look good on me..
If I remember correctly, your over in St.Pete area, well my husband and I went over to Clearwater/St. Pete for a day trip-the beaches of Clearwater are awesome-unlike ours over here in Melbourne-We have little sand and lots of rocks...We ate at "Rockway" it came recommended by the FD guys at station 44. Great food/views.
