- Why I Joined the Fire/EMS:
- I followed my dad into the service. He's been a member in our Department since I was 4 years old. As a single father he was always busy so I spent lots of time hanging out at the firehouse with "the guys" while he was at meetings, drills and calls. It was only natural for me to join when I became a teenager because it was one place I actually felt it was OK to be myself and not have to worry about being judged.
