Why I Joined the Fire/EMS:

I joined Fire/EMS because I grew up as the FD brat b/c growing up my dad was always a large part of it. Once I became old enough, I wanted to follow in his foot steps. I recently lost my uncle who was a previous Fire Captain in my home department. It really made me realize how much Fire/EMS meant to me when I put on my uniform to pay my respects to him. It's an awesome feeling to know how much we can do for others that they cannot do for themselves!!!

I am a waitress at 2 local restaurants as well as a transport medic and a softball, basketball, and soccer coach aside from being a full time student. I also live in a home with my cousin, her fiance, and their 5 children who sometimes I feel as if they are my own. That is a job in itself.

it helps me help people. I love it because we fight what everyone else fears!
