- The Erie County Department of Emergency Services Division of Fire Safety is responsible for the trainging and mutual aid coordination of the county's 97 fire departments.
- Top Issues Facing Responders:
- Recruitment and Retention of Volunteer Firefighters. The key to our success is creating more opportunities, for more people, to volunteer less time.
The fire service needs to embrace the fact that we can no longer do things the way we've been doing them just because that's the way we've always done them. We need to be creative in addressing the people management challenges we face.
We're here to help.
Our goal for this FirefighterNation.com page is to enhance our communications with the Erie County Fire Service and all those who have an interest in what our department has to offer.
We will use this space to promote fire department events, training, recruitment and retention resources and other information pertinent to our local fire service.
Effective use of this space will allow us to prioritize and perhaps reduce the amount of information that is e-mailed directly to your desktop or other electronic device.
