Well at least we are learning from the past!!! been a long time coming
Very good analogy, A good officer will get respect if he or she also gives it. and He or She must take the time to share ideas and knowledge with those they lead.
Very interesting information, I had once thought about trying to get on there but with family it would be very difficult, anyway keep us informed and thanks.
Very sad state affairs going on, its dissturbing to think that a fellow brother would do such an act.
They Fight the Devil
It rises around them consuming all it touchs.
It rages forth with colors of red,orange and white.
Its breath like the fires of hell itself.
Its shadows as black as the darkest night.
They stand to confront it,ever wary of ...

Thanks for the friend accept. Although my family and friends say I am not, I am really kind of shy. Having just joined this site, I am a little nervous about how firefighters might relate to mere wannabe's! Wish I had followed my dreams 20 years ago, but at least my brother lives my dream!
Interestingly, you and my brother seem to have a bit more in common than firefighting. He is a Generation/Transmission Power Dispatcher for Pacific Power & Light, and Resident Firefighter for East County Fire & Rescue. He and his wife and SIX kids live in a house that doubles as a fire station. He is also a member of FFN but apparently doesn't check in very often as he has not yet accepted my friend request!
I really ejoyed your poem, "They Fight the Devil" in Firefighter's Poems
and wondered if you might allow me to post it in a "note" on my facebook page?

Jeff Bruggeman said… - Hey Dennis, if you didn't know, the campus closed for a few years and has since reopened as a Christian school. It is also the home to a number of missonary groups, and what used to be the football field is now a single family home retirement community and a nursing home. The barns are gone and that whole area is a sporting complex run by "Athletes in Action" (a group run by christian professional athletes). On the topic of patches, we don't have any traders but, send an address to my email:
