Anyone hear of LODD? Understandable that juniors are not On duty, but deaths are still likely to occur during actual working hours, or during training hours. Those departments are setting themselves up for attorney phone calls...
yesterday
I think it is crazy to let ya'll in live fires. The liablity alone would make it crazy not to mention the training issues. We do not even have jr fire fighters.

That would be a hot fire!!!

Na, a hot fire is a working commercial structure fire that melts business signs 150' from the building and is too hot to stand near about 300' from the building that burns for 3 days and four nights. Ofcourse I only heard of the stories from the P...

Liability, Worker's Compenstation, State Certification Requirements, NFPA 1403 Live Burn Standard and NFPA 1001 Firefighter Standards all spell out the requirements for live fire training. So, a junior firefighter under the age of "18" should not ...

David, people can get a bit harsh on here, it's how things are.
I really admire your enthusiasm to learn. I was a big whacker in my day and if I was on here then, I'm sure I would be getting the 3rd degree from some of the things that I would have posted.

You are on the right track and by you wanting to learn is a huge difference between the elite and the dead wood goofs. Being a junior is so hard. It's so much worse that being a regular member because of your restrictions and limitations.

hang in there bro. Just follow the state laws and stay safe. You will have your whole life to do things in the department. Just enjoy yourself, and be smart about things.
