Why I Joined the Fire/EMS:: In the beginning as a hobby. The chief at the time recruited me to do tanker shuttles to free up seasoned firefighters for fireground operations. I then got nosy and interested. lol

Primary Fire/EMS Department:: Southern Dallas County Fire Protection District - Buffalo, Missouri

Department Type:: Fire/Rescue Department - Volunteer

Years With This Department/Agency: 9 or so

My Training:: Basic Firefighter skills (Passed FF I&II but never made it to state testing), DOT First Responder, Hazmat Operations, Auto Rescue Technician, etc.

Top Issues Facing Responders:: Lacking participation, pushy older people trying to push for the old status quo. Other things I can add later. LOL

I Love Being in Fire/EMS Because:: Laughing in private at the foolish things people do that costs them big big bucks. In addition, I am driven strangely by spite in this crazy world. People die and are injured on a daily basis and many times there is nothing that can be done to save the lives and property at stake. Yet, I feel Garth Brooks worded it best when he sang, "I do this so this world will know that it will not change me."
