Profile Information

Hometown:
Ft. Lauderdale, Florida
I Live: (City, State)
New York
Years in Fire/EMS:
Less than a year...
Why I Joined the Fire/EMS:
I am calm, cool, collected, not grossed or freaked out, with no real fears. It would almost be selfish not to. The job's always something I have been so passionate about. Even if things are grim, I will always have a hand to be held if nothing else can be done. I didn't choose this job.... it's just in me... It's who I am.
Relationship Status:
Single
Department Type:
Fire/Rescue Department - Volunteer
Rank/Role There:
Firefighter / EMT-Basic
About Me:
I moved to New York almost 2 years ago- Starting my lifelong dream. My dream is to become a Rescue Medic. I'm an EMT who is currently on the FDNY waiting list (should be in the July academy), looking for a volley house on Long Island, and studying to become a Fire Fighter/Paramedic. I am also attending nursing school.
I Love Being in Fire/EMS Because:
Just being there for people when they are scared... Knowing that when you left; grandkids still had their grandma, parents still had their child, a family still had their dog, photos and such weren't all but lost because you got there in enough time.

Hey, Just wondered how your, I guess you could say experience, was getting onto the FDNY waiting list? I am just starting as a volunteer in my town but have been around the business since I was a kid as my dad has been a volunteer since then. I am working hard to go paid and would love to go to FDNY. You sound like a pretty cool chick. Maybe we can chat sometime. Thanks from a brother!

Actually if they see a pov with lights, some idiots would drive slower and not pull over just to be an ass.

I am really getting sick and tired of Senator Reid sticking his nose into things that he just needs to stay out of. This training is going to be a great training tool, and we need it. we should have more training like this so that we are prepared ...
