Chiefy joined Mick Mayers's group
The ultimate group for Truck Company brothers: if you know LOVERS PLUS isn't a dirty movie, if your knuckles drag, or if you got leather boots because they gave you better footing on the rungs, this place is for you.

Car wash with a twist. Firefighters in bunkers, and rinse cars with (greatly) reduced handlines(fog only) or run hydrant water thru the off engine to look cool. You can also do it with a stick or bucket and have then drive thru the stream for the ...

I think the definitive term here is "DETERMINED" to be vacant. I applaud Flint Mi's policy; basically if it is abandoned AND determined to be vacant, you protect the exposures and let it burn. Why would you risk a single Firefighter's life to save...

Yes, the friends I made over 25.5 years on a daily basis darn right I miss it. The fire service was like a soap opera, if you missed one day it seemed like you missed a week. I still see the guys now and then and even have coffee with them occasio...

........"COMMANDEERED IN TEXAS"

This is part II of my deployment to Gustav and then IKE. Please read part one....Hurricane Deployment elsewhere in these blogs.

While at the airfield, a Police officer approached me and asked how many ambulances and personnel I had. I told him I had 15 units with a total of 30 personnel. He said "Hmmm... I might just have to commandeer you boys."
" Really?" I asked. "And how does that work? We work for FEMA, a Federal Agency."
He said..." I have the authorization of the State of Texas and The… Continue

Deployed to Hurricanes....Life with FEMA

I have just returned from Texas hurricane duty for our friends at FEMA. I was part of a huge EMS presence in the Gulf region. I was in one of roughly 1000 ambulances based out of Kelly AFB in San Antonio Texas.
There were also 1100 tour buses and 300 taxis located nearby.

I originally went down for Gustav, taking some 30 hours to drive a convoy of 15 ambulances from Michigan to San Antonio. I spent 10 days in the heat, often eating MRE's ( which I later discovered that eating the laxative gum i… Continue

Where are all the West Coast Firefighters?

As you may or may not know, I hire firefighters in all 50 states to do side work swapping out TVs and other simple A / V equipment. I have been doing this for almost a year now and my question is.........where are all the West Coast firefighters? Are they too busy fighting forest fires? I know they can be busy but I have had very little response from California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Idaho. Heck anything West of the Mississippi has been barely there. Do we on this side of that river just h… Continue

Thanks for asking about the flags. They are made from PVC (hard) and include an American flags and POW-MIA (I was able to make a PGR flag as well). The flags are 12x18 and should be dressed for cruising only (as high speeds may cause the wood flag pole to break).

Depending of the flag(s) I have the poles set at $25.00 each (including postage to you) They attach to the bars of your sissy bar/back rest with plastic wire wrap cables (I include 3 per falg pole). I can send you pictures if you would like...let me know.

No, not fire service, side work. And I can't believe they won't hire females. That's insane, and illegal. This was to check out some displays twice a week for me and it would have made you $600.00 but I got a firefighter in Springfield to do it. I needed a person fast and without contact with you I had to hire him. Too bad. You were a lot closer. But you can still sign up for future work. My e-mail is Chief@pro-motion.us

I see that NIOSH reports have popped up on the radar of the blogosphere recently. Frankly, I’m surprised at the heat a few have been giving them. Maybe I’ve been missing something (it’s happened before). So I took a closer look. We already...
