Seat Belt Usage

How many people can honestly say they wear their seatbelts when riding on appartus, or how many out there still have appartus with out seatbelts?

I was just browsing your discussion on consolidation from July. Would love to chat with you about it. Same sort of situation where I live. I reside in a suburb of Buffalo NY in a town of about 42 sq. miles with a population of 18,000. We have five separate fire companies( departments) in our town. Two of the companies- are part of a Fire District- which in NYS is a legal tax levying political subdivision overseen by a Board of Fire Commissioners who are elected by the taxpayers of said district. The other three companies make up a Fire Protection District, which does not have any of the powers that a Fire District have. One of the deparments in the Fire Protection District is a village fire department who along with the other two departments contract with our town, yearly, to provide service to their own piece of the fire protection district. Each company is incorporated(save maybe the village fire department)and has a complete set of Executive and Line Officers. So, we have in our town- 3 Chiefs, 1- District Chief(who oversees both departments who compose the Fire District) and a total 10 Asst. Chiefs running around. There are 11 engines in the town- 2 are ''rescue pumpers'', 1 ladder, 2- ''heavy'' rescues, 1- medium duty rescue, 4 ambulances (one of the companies in the fire district provides EMS to the entire district); 3 of them are ILS and 1- is ALS Paramedic, however we dont provide transport unless there is a situation- we have a paid service in our town now that is a contracted paramedic level organization who is the primary EMS agency now.Oh.. and 4- Chiefs Vehicles. Four little kingdoms with duplication of services...for less than 2,500 calls a year total and that amount is being gracious.
