Why I Joined the Fire/EMS:

The needs of our town. We are a department of 17 Active members, 3 are founding members from 1961. Only half of the dept. is interior qualified. Three trucks, 3 dry hydrants and 100% volunteer in the respect that there is NO pay for anything, it's a service to the town!

Top Issues Facing Responders:

in our case: volunteers and funding as we are a small town of 700 people. The majority of people that have been interested in the dept. lately are 50+ years of age and no younger interest as of late. Being a small town that is quiet from a call standpoint, funding is almost non-existent.
