Cummins, Detroit Diesel or other engines?

Which Engine manufacturer do your trucks have? Are you happy with their power, fuel economy, endurance, etc.

Yeah, that's the size of it. Trying to move forward toward some solutions though. Our biggest hurdles are training, equipment and apparatus. Kind of the whole enchilada there, huh? There is also the old Volunteer versus paid rivalry showing up now and again.

No Chad, nothing really unusual, in fact we have a decided lack of appropriate apparatus here. Because we have a small tax base, and limited budget, many of our rural stations don't even have structural pumpers. Our company is currently working off a type 4 forestry engine on loan from the forest service. great for brush fires but rotten for structure fires!

Hey Chad, whats going on? Have you been busy like us the last 2 weekends!! Wildfire season is prime around here! 60, 80 acres at a time. We were at Eldred yesterday helping them fight there big one in the woods. Lets just say people are making the Forestry Dept work for their money this year.

Sorry for the delay...What we do is when we arrive at work we are either assigned to the street or the station based on who is working. We have a Captain on the street and a Lt. on the street and then we have an Lt. in the station and one other firefighter and the rest are assigned to police. Everyone has fire gear in their vehicle and if a fire happens then we all respond, fight it and then return to the street. Again sorry for the delay.

Ladder 49 is a chick-flick. That's as simple as I can put it.It is a love story and is all mixed up. He had a kid that was 10 but he was still a rookie. Then movie never showed when he had a second child either. As soon as the movie started and I ...

What about the classic Towering Inferno?

Man that sucks. We can actually have dispatch get ahold of PD if a car passes us while running lights and sirens if we have a plate number. If the cops can't find the vehicle, I think they send a ticket in the mail. I think.
